Ryan can't blame the spotter either
Watch the video again. Ryan kicked his car sideway IN the pit when he took off (pointing him too far into the lane) as well as fishtailing into Danica after he left the pit. She also gave him ALL the room she could.
Ryan used poor controll all the way

Reality; What a concept
Reality #1: Unless her pit crew found a miracle cure for the lack of speed in her car, Danica wasn't going to win that race. Top 10, absolutely - top 5, possible - but short of some bizarre circumstances she just didn't have the car to win. Reality #2: She was at speed in the right lane of pit road, when Briscoe pulled out she swerved as close to the wall as you could ever expect any driver to take their car. It's obvious he punched to gas too hard and kicked out the back end of his car which caused the wreck. Reality #3: Racing accidents happen, even the best drivers make mistakes or miscalculations once in a while. Reality #4: Forgiveness never comes to the arogant person who is unwilling to say "oops, I goofed, I'm sorry"

An accident? Yes.
Briscoe is an embarrassment for Penske Racing, and for all of the IRL. Certainly what happened was accidental, but failing to "man" up and realize that the accident was his fault, is clearly a sign of weak moral fortitude. To reiterate what Zach pointed out:
(3) If you look at the rear of his car immediately prior to contact, you can see that he lost traction and fishtailed into Danica suggesting that he was overcorrecting after having moved up too far -- all the while he continued to accelerate to try to get up to speed and justify his move to the far right lane.
Come on Ryan, don't be a coward... admit that you fornicated with unlawful carnal knowledge'ed up, and apologize like a true sportsman, and a man.

Briscoe failed on not one, but two counts
Mistakes happen. Fine. Briscoe made a mistake. But instead of doing the right thing -- admitting it and apologizing for it -- he turned the mistake into a big mess and a failure. His denial shows complete lack of maturity and sportsmanship and until he apologizes, he will continue to etch his name into the Indy 500 book of screw-ups.

Zach in VA is right.
I noticed it too, that Danica had the lane, Briscoe pulled out too far, tried to overcorrect and fishtailed into Danica. Rookie mistake. I'm mainly a NASCAR fan, so don't actually know if Briscoe is a rookie or not, but he definitely F*****d up. He should take responsibility for his actions. - Danica didn't have the speed to win, but she was difinitely a top 10 contender, maybe even a top 5. -
As for her actions, I don't begrudge her this at all. She acted like any other racer would. Since there aren't that many females in this sport, I will say she acted just like any other guy would as well. Give her a break. She was mad and has a right to be. On the other hand, the officials did their job and headed her off, which is what they are supposed to do as well. This is why you see so many of them around the two drivers after a crash. Look at any race series after an incident on pit road and you will see it.

Basic driving 101
What lane of traffic do you merge into when getting on the freeway? Exactly, that idiot cut all the way across. The spotter is not to be blamed, who expects a driver to go immediately to the opposite side. What an idiot! Danica is not fiesty, she just has a set of balls bigger than "it's not my fault" Briscoe.

It's an accident!
Some of these comments are amazing! Suspicious? Disqualify Brisco? Her getting robbed I would however agree with! It was an accident people. Danica was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's all there was to it. Comments like these stupid remarks are made from people who throw out perfectly good beer cans at Jeff Gordon after winning a race. I would like to think most of us true open wheel race fans are to stupid for opera but too smart for NASCAR! Should Danica have been disqualified when she spun and took out several cars during a restart at INDY in 2005? Keep it real folks!

Get your facts straight
For UNREAL: I agree and disagee with you. I think Briscoe is too cocky, but not because he is with Target-chip. Check your facts...he is with Roger Penske. THAT is the team that needs to start showing some sportsmanship. Ryan is quoted as saying, "There are people pointing fingers, but that's not the way we are in here." It's not about pointing fingers, Ryan. It's about accepting responsibility for a mistake. Even Marco had the decency to apologize to his teammate TK for a poor move on the inside. Target-Chip is the real winner here. Not only did Dixon have an amazing month, they were smart enough to release Briscoe years ago.
