In reference to Kannan's interview post-brawl interview. Kannan should remember that Sam is a 3-time champion and the winner of one of the most spectacular Indy 500 wins in history, unlike the pathetic ending of the 2007 Indy 500. I think that Kannan is pissed and frustrated because he keeps loosing to his less capable buddy, Franchinni.

Pit Lane Confusion
Yvonne: Hornish didn't "pull up next to Kanaan in pit lane" -- after TK cut him off pulling into the pits (remember, he finished behind him), an IRL official stopped both cars right there to keep anything from happening and anyone from getting hurt.

Hornish, Sr. needs to go.
Hornish, Sr started the whole thing. The drivers were discussing their sides but "big daddy" had to get in the middle and start it all. I hope that Barnhardt pulls his hard card. He has no business in the pits. Go sit in the Penske hospitality and pass out hot dogs.

First off Hornish is leaving and going to NASCAR. It was a racing incodent when he hit Kanaan going into the turn early in the race you dont get disqualified for a racing inncident. Kanaan started it all again when he cliped Hornish going in the pits, TK is the man but that wasnt right what he did going in. Plus all the cars coming in behind them could have just parked there cars behind Hornish and Kanaan. And I have know idea what u mean by the car in the lead has the right of way, first off its racing your suppose to pass and Kanaan wasnt in the lead. This was Hornish's fault he shouldnt have tried to get past Kanaan on the track but your wrong in everything else you said

Tony appeared to try and make the pass on Carpenter, then thought the better of it and backed off a little. Sam apparently thought going three wide into the corner was a good move. Sorry Sam, your fault there. Tony was wrong to clip you coming into the pits, Two wrongs don't make a right, but you've got no reason to be angry.

I agree with Conatus. That really is a goofy statement! Drivers are humans like everyone else, and they also get angry, ok some of them manage those feelings better than others, but saying it doesn't happens in Europe is plain jibberish. Formula 1 spectators have witnessed several 'encounters' like this one. Ask Nelson Piket or Eliseo Salazar about it:

Even Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard had a major scramble in the pits after their accident in the Belgium GP in 1998. But those are drivers who, i think, have the right to behave like this. After all it's their skin in the line all the time... I never saw a mum or dad involved in such a funny spectacle.

Sam Sr. was in the right!
It was clear after watching the video replay that Sam Sr. backed Sam away from Tony to avoid a fight. Instead of backing down and cooling off, Kanaan came back looking for trouble. I would have decked Tony instead of pushing him if I were Sam Sr.
