Indianapolis Motor Speedway Historian Donald Davidson's popular "History of the Indianapolis 500" class, presented every April since 1986, is also being offered this fall.
Over four evenings in October, students will learn much of the nearly 100-year history of "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" as Davidson shares many stories, anecdotes, a slide show and his personal memories in this non-credit course. Davidson is widely considered as the pre-eminent authority on Indianapolis 500. The class meets from 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday in October - Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28 - at the Brickyard Crossing Inn.
Offered through Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis' Continuing Studies program, the class is traditionally offered in April and is a popular prelude to the Month of May for many fans.
Interested students may register via the School of Continuing Studies Web site, http://www.cln.iupui.edu. Other enrollments options include calling the School of Continuing Studies at (317) 278-7600, downloading an enrollment form from the Web site and faxing it to (317) 274-2638, mailing the form, or enrolling in person at the IUPUI Continuing Studies office. Registration is $65.
