 Pole Day Looms As Indy Practice Underway Two days and counting to Pole Day as the fifth day of practice for the 87th Indianapolis 500 is underway today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Drivers may have concentrated on race setup earlier this week, but it's a safe bet that nearly every driver and team will start or continue working on qualifying setup today as the chase for the MBNA Pole and the accompanying $100,000 bonus takes place Saturday. Dan Wheldon and Kenny Brack each have topped 231 mph in the last two days. Can any other drivers join them or reach the 232-mph mark today? Practice is scheduled to continue until 7 p.m. (EDT) on the historic, 2.5-mile oval.
