Raceday Infield Parking for Indy 500....Tips/Help
Hello fellow 500 fanatics,

I am going to attempt to park in the infield again this year for the 500.  I would appreciate any "insider" tips from people who have successfully parked there on race day.  We attempted to last year but arrived on 16th street at 7:15 am and quickly realized that there was no chance of making it.  The main questions I have are

1. Which gate gives the better chance of making it in, the main gate on 16th or the gate by the North 40 on the north end?

2.  What time do we need to be in line?

Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.

Get there early as possible. I have seen the gates off 30th. street open before 6:00 a.m. as posted. It all depends on the traffic and crowd. If there is a big turnout to park in the noth 40 the night before; they will open the gates to park until 6:00 a.m. We have spent the night out before the race many times. But since the split in 97 I have not seen much of early opening of the north forty/ 30th. streed gate. Stay to the left when entering; if you want to park in turn 3 close to the mounds.

good luck

 parking...
Brad is correct...

the earlier the better...  just get out there and start the line of cars if you have too...  you can close your eyes and take a nap while you're waiting for the gates to open...

Hey everyone,

If someone was to park in the infied parking on the inside of turn 3 would they be able to get to there seats in H stands? If not are you ok not going to your seats?

We are planning on getting there around 4am to get in.
