 Sharp, Scheckter Finish Successful Firestone Test At Indy Indy Racing League drivers Scott Sharp and Tomas Scheckter concluded two days of Firestone tire testing Aug. 15 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, turning in a two-day total of 387 laps. Sharp, driving Kelley Racing's No. 8 Delphi Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone, completed 87 laps Thursday with a top speed of 222.585 mph. The team concluded its testing at approximately 11:30 a.m. (EST), having reached its goal of completing 600 miles for the two days. Scheckter, driving the No. 53 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara/Infiniti/Firestone, and the Red Bull Cheever Racing crew elected to stay for the entire afternoon, posting a fast speed of 225.248.
