Thank you Tom
Ever since my father took me to my first pole day, some 27 years ago (I will be 34 this year), Tom's bellowing voice stays very much in my memories. To hear the famous "And it's a new track record" and the roar of the fans right after that really made me realize that this is something special. As I have grown older and started attending the 500 mile race faithly over the last 5 years, I couldn't imagine not having Tom's voice there. I want to say thank you for the memories and I will miss you in the booth. Take careTom! - Mario

Tom the Phenom
Having returned to the IMS in 2004 for the first time since 1978 and hearing the "voice" [i.e., Tom Carnegie] announcing at the drivers' meeting brought a "lump in my throat." I grew up listening to Tom not only at "the track" but most Indianapolis-area sporting events. He is the very best. Thanks, Tom.

a living ledgend
Thanks for all the memories Mr. Carnegie. You are a living ledgend. You are as much a ledgend of the Brickyard as the names, Hulman, Foyt, Andretti, RUtherford, Mears, Mosley, and Rathman.
