I take back what I said about Dario

I shouldn't type anything like that about any drivers Except for Scheckter. I was angry at Dario and I feel more sorry then angry lookin' at what I typed.

    P.S Marco shouldn't leave AGR.

    GOOOOOOOOOO AGR!!!!!!!!!!!

    please yourself

if you have the chance to win a race, i think u should take that chance and let your teammates drive themselves. Why should Marco have to give up the race just so that Dario could win? Dario could've waited to pass, or just came in second and still had the championship. If I had the chance to win the race, I would go for it, not do my driving for someone else.

    Inexperience

Marco was on cold tires. He wasn't up to speed and if this would have been F1, he would have been penalized for going over the pit-out line. At the point of contact, there was no way for Marco to have been close to race speed due to the fact that sector is an uphill with turns.
I place the responsibility directly on his spotter who should have told him to stay to the outside. Even if Dario could have hit the brakes earlier, the track crests at the apex of the turn from what I can see, and he certainly would have locked up. Considering the layout of the track, I don't believe that he could have seen Dario in his mirrors.
From what I've seen with IndyCar, Nascar, or any other series, when driver come out of the pits, they do their best to stay off the racing line until they get past the top of the hill.
I would like to know what his spotter told him.

Fault lays in the response to the chains of action

Fault 1: AGR puts Marco out infront of DARIO
Fault 2: DARIO gives MARCO a wheel and screws both of their races

The bottom line is that Marco ows it to his team who got him out infron of Dario to push hard to win the race. If you notice, dario not only put a wheel in the dirt but slid up into the second lane to take out Marco. Now Marco didn't give him much room, but he doesn't have to. HE IS RACING. Mistake finally falls on Dario for being over agressive when he as so much to loose.

    Marcos Fault Period

Will people quit trying to use a defense for Marco by saying, he couldn't see his mirrors cause he couldn't control the car. When you race an Indy car, if you can't control the car uphill you shouldnt be racing there in the first place, so giving in to drivers who can control their car is common sense, and especially since the driver behind you was your teammate and championship contender. Bad communication, but Marco has wrecked most events this year, how can anyone blame the INDY 500 winner, who is having a great season and is a veteran of racing, I think real race enthusiats understand whose fault it was, the rest, are just bandwagon race fans. You don't tell the leader (who is your teammate) TO WAIT. HE WOULDNT BE THE LEADER IF HE WAITED THE REST OF THE RACE FOR EVERYONE ELSE!

    Ease Up there Dustin

1st, I only look stupid. I did watch the race, and was compelled to watch the replay on this site. I stand by my earlier statement, and will go a bit further into your's. Yes at that point of the race, coming out of the pits, Marco was the race leader. AGR plays pit stategy that way many times, by leaving someone out. - This time Marco. Did you see Marco come into the pits? Dario had to wait for Marco to come in and clear before Dario could exit. Yes poor Dustin, IRL is all about racing & winning, team concepts do come into play. In this particular instance, we got the opportunity to see when it works & more importantly for the team, when it didn't. Communication in AGR is horrible for certain, so they still have more work to do. Question next year becomes what tools will they have to work with?

    professionalism

It took a lot for Dario to be so humble after the race and choose his words carefully about michael--what he should have said is support your championship owner or be a father--choose or lose! Maybe Penske would like a championship win next year by hiring Dario when he comes off contract! Time for Agr to play catch up again...

What u hear is what u get.

If this was a trial I'm not sure you could get a Marco conviction by video evidence. It would be interesting to have heard what the spotter or crew was radioing at the time. If nothing, their fault. If someone was warning him off, woodshed (fire him).

    You people are stupid!!!!

"why was marco in the racing line?" because he was the race LEADER at that time, and also he was having a hard enough time controlling the car going up the hill, so i doubt he looked in the mirrors to see who was behind him, and thirdly because ITS A RACE he wanted to WIN he had every right to be on the low line, how are you going to call him greedy for wanting to win the race?? isnt that the whole point of racing? and for everydoby who is pissing and moaning that he shouldnt have been in the racing line, if it had been some one other than an AGR car it wouldnt have been a problem, hell if it had been Dixon most of you would be rejoycing. and also if Marco had let Dario past then he would have jumped right back in the racing line and blocked Dixon, and again most of you would be fine with that because "Marco would be defending his teamate" and nobody would have a problem with that except Dixon fans. And also DARIO SAW MARCO COME OUT OF THE PITS!!! Why couldnt he wait one turn to try and pass Marco. I would bet Marco didnt see Dario because as i said befor he was having trouble controling the car!!!! It would make no sense for him to be looking in the mirrors when he cant even control the car. And also if he did see him (which he most likly didnt) he would have figured Dario would wait 3sec. to make a move. Why should Marco have gone high in that turn to gove Franchitti room, if he goes up there into the marbles on cold tires hes not going to be staying on track for very long, he would have slid off and maybe hit the wall. I would love to hear the radio transmission right as Marco came out of the pits to see if the team told him that Dario was even coming. This was not Marcos fault it was Darios and quite possibly the teams fault.

    True Champions don't need help

Well, in my view there was a communication hickup there that cost the team the win, but does a true champion need help? I say, one deserves a championship if YOU win, its not having Tony K baby sit for you...
